Pintoricchio: 'Saint Catherine of Alexandria with a Donor'

Explore the paintings

The crowned Saint Catherine is represented wearing a martyr's crown. She holds a book, to indicate her learning, and the sword by which she was executed; at her side is the wheel upon which she was tortured. The donor on the right of this picture is tonsured but is not in an ecclesiastical habit.

This work may have been painted in Rome.
