The female sitter in this portrait has not been identified. There is a fragment of paper on the back with the remains of an inscription: Cad(..) rello / ...rta (.) (p?) rello.

Miereveld was an immensely successful portrait painter in Delft and painted many members of the Stadholder's court at The Hague.
