Recognising saints: veil

A veil is the common attribute of Saint Veronica

A veil with an image of Christ’s face is the symbol of Saint Veronica and is known as a 'Veronica’.

Saint Veronica offered her veil to Christ to wipe the sweat from his brow as he carried the cross to Calvary. The veil was miraculously marked with Christ’s features.
