Recognising saints: lion

A lion is the common attribute of Saint Jerome

Saint Jerome is reputed to have removed a thorn from a lion’s paw while living as a hermit in the desert.

Saint Jerome was a biblical scholar who made the first translation of the Bible in Latin.
