John Linnell: 'Samuel Rogers'

Explore the paintings

Samuel Rogers (1763 - 1855), banker and versifier, was a Trustee and benefactor of the Gallery. This work seems to be a sketch related to a portrait of him begun by Linnell in October 1833 (now at the Tate Gallery, dated 1835).
