Hans Memling: 'Saint John the Baptist'
This painting is part of the group: The Donne Triptych
This painting has a reverse

This left-hand shutter forms part of a triptych, which was probably commissioned from Memling in Bruges by Sir John Donne of Kidwelly, a Welshman resident in Calais, in the late 1470s.

The shutter shows Saint John the Baptist, Sir John Donne's name-saint. The figure on the reverse shows Saint Christopher, painted to resemble a statue.
