Sacrament

As a religious term, a sacrament is defined as 'An outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace'.

The seven sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church are Baptism, Confession, Communion, Confirmation, Matrimony, Ordination and Extreme Unction. The term is also often used for the Sacrament of the Eucharist - the consecrated bread and wine - especially among Protestants.
