Papirius

This jovial classical tale tells how the boy Papirius accompanied his father to the Senate. Questioned by his mother about the secret debate, he protected state secrets by inventing their topic of dicussion: whether it would be better for men to have two wives, or women to have two husbands. The Roman women's subsequent petition for two husbands astounded the Senators until Papirius stepped in to explain the mystery.
