Jacob

Jacob was the twin brother of Esau. His life is recounted in the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament.

The stories from his life include his gaining of his brother's birthright by deception, his vision of a ladder leading to heaven, and his wrestling with an angel.

Two pictures in the Gallery show Jacob reproaching Laban (Genesis 29: 21-26). He reproaches the old man because after he had worked for him for seven years so that he could marry Laban's daughter Rachel, her elder sister Leah was substituted for her.
