Charles II

Charles II (1630 - 1685) was the eldest son of Charles I. He regained the crown of England in 1660 after the civil war and the interregnum.

Charles II did much to reassemble his father's art collection which had been dispersed under the Commonwealth, but parts of it were irretrievable.
