Gaspard Dughet: 'Landscape with a Shepherd and his Flock'
This painting depicts a landscape scene in the countryside around Rome, probably near Albano in the South-East of Rome.

It is apparently a pendant to Dughet's 'Imaginary Landscape with Buildings in Tivoli' in the Collection. It has been suggested that this painting inspired van Bloemen's 'Landscape with Travellers' (Rome, Doria Pamphilj). A drawn copy of the composition (Bliss collection) has been attributed to Gainsborough.
