The reverse of this panel bears the stamp of the coat of arms of the city of Antwerp. Wouters returned to Antwerp from a stay in England in 1641, and remained there for the rest of his life. This picture, probably inspired by a composition by Rubens and Jan Brueghel, was probably painted in the 1650s.
