Scenes from the Life of Saint Jerome: Predella

The predella, or lower section of the altarpiece, has the Rucellai arms and four scenes: Saint Jerome taking the thorn out of the lion's paw; his vision when ill; his death; and his appearance with Saint John the Baptist to Saint Augustine.

This section runs along the bottom of the main painting, showing 'Saint Jerome in Penitence with Saints and Donors'.
