The Virgin and Child are shown with Saint Dominic (1170 - 1221), the founder of the Dominican Order of Preachers, who commonly holds a lily, and Saint Catherine of Siena (about 1347 - 1380), a Dominican tertiary, canonised in 1461. Saint Catherine stands behind two donors, a man and a woman.
This panel was formerly ascribed to the artist Andrea di Aloigi, who was an assistant of Perugino's but is now generally held to be a work of an early 16th-century follower of Perugino.
