This painting is the right hand shutter from the Crucifixion triptych. It shows the donatrix who commissioned the work as if she were witnessing the Crucifixion - the subject of the central panel. Her husband is painted opposite on the left hand panel.
Her unidentified coat of arms, partly rubbed out, is painted on the 'prie-dieu' (the prayer desk she is kneeling in front of). In the background is a scene of the Resurrection.
