Bacchiacca: 'Joseph pardons his Brothers'
This painting is part of the group: Scenes from the Story of Joseph
This painting is one of a series of panels that decorated the bedchamber of the Borgherini Palazzo in Florence. Together, they tell the life of Joseph from the Bible (Old Testament). Here Joseph pardons his brothers for selling him into slavery.

Left, the brothers are brought to Joseph, with Benjamin the youngest a prisoner. Right, they beg for Joseph's mercy; he reveals himself and forgives them (Genesis 43).

'Joseph receives his Brothers' by the artist and 'Joseph sold to Potiphar', 'Pharaoh with his Butler and Baker', 'Joseph's Brothers beg for Help' and 'Joseph with Jacob in Egypt' by Pontormo, are part of the same series.
