After Padovanino: 'Cornelia and her Sons'

Explore the paintings

Cornelia, a Roman matron and mother of the Gracchi, declared her sons to be her jewels after a female friend boasted of the jewels she owned (Valerius Maximus, 'De Factis').

The quality of the top portion suggests that it is no more than an old copy (possibly the original was damaged or destroyed). The lower portion could conceivably be by Padovanino.
