The sitter is not identified. He is shown drinking and eating as a representation of the sense of Taste. This is probably a copy after a lost original which was one of a series of the 'Five Senses' by Coques in the Collection. The other works are 'Sight', 'Hearing', 'Touch', and 'Smell'.
