A Female Saint

The painting, perhaps a fanciful portrait of a woman as a saint, rather than simply the likeness of a saint, is a copy of a painting by Dosso Dossi now in a private collection. It is close to the late work of Raphael which Dosso Dossi knew very well, but there are few paintings of this character by Dosso himself.
