From the sound artist:
From a sound designer's point of view this haunting image provides wide scope for creative work. I think it has a bleak, ominous atmosphere, and I tried to capture this with a combination of deep synthesised drones, recordings of wind and the movement of trees, along with the occasional distant sound of a child. But I am drawn to the woman in the foreground. I find that no matter where I look in the painting, she catches my eye. The piano music represents this solitary figure.
