The National Gallery is collaborating with Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication on 'Transcriptions: Sound’, an innovative new project which involves sound design students producing a three-minute response to a painting of their choice in the Gallery's collection.

From the sound artist:
This scene encapsulates the raw conflict between man and beast. The bull’s entrance is signified by elegant yet commanding operatic voices. The sustained choir and strings then accompany the charge of the bull to reinforce its grace and agility. Finally, the bull’s inconsequential death is suggested by the indifferent crowd and now relaxed atmosphere.
