The National Gallery is collaborating with the London Film School on 'Transcriptions: LFS Shorts', an innovative new project which involves second term students producing short 3-4 minute films inspired by the Gallery’s collection as part of their course.

The painting has an immediate visual impact. Although Rubens uses colour to full effect, I wanted to invert this by using the bare minimum of colour. The composition is theatrical and the style bold. I wanted to twist the picture's disturbing theme, shifting the power over to the women.
