From the film-maker:
The plot of ‘Cuddle Cure’ originated with the ideas of mortality, redemption and innocence which I saw portrayed in this painting.
Without getting over-analytical about it, the story of this man accidentally dropping his baby while trying to be a good father resonated with the image of Saint Francis holding a skull, as though he’s asking for forgiveness for his wrongdoings. Although my film isn’t as dramatic as the painting leads on to be, it still incorporates the whole ‘frailty of human life’ aspect in everyday life.
