My animation was based on the Agony in the Garden, which is described in all four Gospels as the moment immediately after the Last Supper when Jesus goes into the Garden of Gethsemane with three of the disciples to pray. The disciples fall asleep. Garofalo shows Jesus just before he is captured and crucified by the Romans, praying for help to an angel. I chose this painting as I loved the colours contrasted against the night sky, the bright light of the angel, and the colours of the robes. As well as the visual contrasts I also liked the idea of portraying a harrowing story with a magical twist.
