From the film-maker:
I was inspired by Pissarro’s painting mostly because of the ‘rain’. Although the boulevard seems busy, I had this weird feeling that the street was really calm and peaceful.
I wanted to show two human beings in this atmosphere. I was keen from the start to work on a skater, and I liked that anachronism between the time of the painting and the current time of the skater. I decided to add a ballerina to contrast the movement and the two characters.
Éphémère shows a moment of life, things that do not last for a long time.
