From the film-maker:
I found my painting straight away. The whole look of it and the funny scenery really inspired me. Two guys lifting up a fat old man to pick some grapes from a tree. I just loved it.
Now the really challenging bit had to be done: developing a story. I started to build the story around this fat character and his servant. After some time I decided that my main characters should be a skinny guy and his fat pet rabbit. Over the years the rabbit grew into a monster, because of being over fed by this poor guy. Now the man is a slave of his own pet. But the story will end happily for him, because of the fact that one day, there is no food left in the house except a bunch of grapes...
I like how I got to this idea through the painting and I really enjoyed working on it.
A piece inspired by Annibale Carracci: Silenus gathering Grapes, 1597-1600
