The National Gallery is collaborating with Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design on 'Transcriptions: Animation’, an innovative new project which involves postgraduate animation students producing short films inspired by the Gallery’s collection.

A short animation exploring Van Gogh's depression as the symptom of humanity misunderstanding not his art but his subject, nature. Van Gogh explains from the window of his room at the asylum that the way we have changed our attitudes to Mother Nature is a sign of our ever-increasing ignorance of the beauty around us.
