From the film-maker:
I have always been interested in the fight between good and evil, by the forever lasting conflict of human nature, soul. While studying History of Art at Art School in Poland I became amazed by such artists as Hans Memling, and his 'The Last Judgment' oil on panel, 1467-71, and the 'Isenhaim Altarpiece' by Matthias Grünewald, and works by Hieronimus Bosh. I love the way they were painted and my friends and I spent lots of time discussing those works. Finding the work of Bermejo at the National Gallery reminded me of those times and his aesthetics felt inspiring for my style of drawing, and that is how this piece of animation started. Maybe without a great storyline, but it was a good journey on this project. - Darkness has fallen in a city. There is a fight taking place. It's happening right here and now.
