From the Film Maker...

In the first part of my film I kept the colours quite dark to evoke a flighty figure moving easily in order to do a bad deed unseen. I deliberately illuminated his face only slightly.

There was mischievousness to the small figure in the painting as he reached for something that looked potentially harmful or forbidden. There also seems to be a glint in the eye, lending it very well to comedy.

I concentrated on the mischievous nature of the character and the idea of being forced into a bad deed, whether knowingly or not.

I wanted to work with the idea of taking something without knowing what the consequences might be, but being blinded by something glowing before you.

I was interested in the look of the figure in the painting, how he was hunched over and operating clandestinely. It was fun reading into what could possibly have happened after the act.
