Otoshimae

by Yosuke Kato

From the Film Maker...

When I first looked at 'The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist' by Puvis de Chavannes I was instantly impressed with how the artist had captured, in still, the very moment before the beheading of John the Baptist.

I was enthused by how the artist had managed to create this feeling of suspense, and with my film 'Otoshimae' I hoped to recapture this within a genre piece from my own culture.

This is the second film I have directed in the UK and I hope to continue directing films that combine my experiences of Western and Eastern cultures.
