Confessions of a Vampire

From the Film Maker...

The style of my film is gothic, like the painting. I tried to tell the story with the music. The score is very classical and my decision to use the choirs like protagonists was to emphasise further the gothic touch.

Many art historians consider the painting as a symbol of death, which is also the theme of my film. My main character (Tristan - the vampire) commits suicide in order to save his beloved and asks forgiveness for his wrongs.

The love has a connection with the infinite distance represented in the painting (an eternal love outside space and time).

The connection with the snow, in particular with the winter, is the flashback: when the two characters meet for the first time. The scenario was set in winter but without snow.

The connection with the crucifix, the Christian faith and the last prayer is concentrated in the moment when the main character holds the crucifix and kisses Lucy for the last time before he goes to die.
