From the Film Maker...

The brushwork gives this painting a very smooth feeling. It has its own quiet and stillness, distinguishing it from Lautrec’s famous paintings of nightlife in Montmartre.

We have little information about the woman in the painting, we simply know she might be a dancer. I wanted to create the back-story of who the woman was and how she came to be sitting in this garden.
