University of the Arts London Central Saint Martins Complicite

'Transcriptions: Animation' is an innovative collaboration between the National Gallery and Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design. Students on the College's Postgraduate Diploma in Character Animation produced 1-2 minute animations inspired by the Gallery's Collection.

Theatre company Complicite and National Gallery Education staff led the students through an exploration of narrative, movement, performance, composition and colour, looking at selected paintings. Students then worked from one chosen painting to create their films.
