Manet, 'The Execution of Maximilian', about 1867-8

Archduke Ferdinand Maximillian was Emperor of Mexico from 1864-7. He was put in power with the support of France, but executed on 18 June 1867 after France withdrew its military support.

This depiction of his execution has been mysteriously cut into pieces. Some of the pieces have been lost. Find out what we know about the missing sections:
