Master of the Mornauer Portrait
probably active about 1460 - 1488
This artist is named after the portrait of Alexander Mornauer now in the Collection. He has been identified with the Tyrolean painter-sculptor Michael Pacher and also with the itinerant German painter Joos Amman von Ravensburg, but neither proposal seems satisfactory and the identity and origins of the artist remain uncertain.
