Hans Wertinger
1465/70 - 1533
Hans Wertinger was born in Landshut in Bavaria, and spent most of his career working for the Bavarian nobility. Like most German artists of the period, his work was varied, and he painted altarpieces, portraits and decorative paintings as well as making woodcut and stained-glass design. However, his most characteristic and attractive works are those portraying the months of the year or the seasons.
