Gianfrancesco Penni
1496? - 1528
Giovanfrancesco Penni was a pupil of Raphael. According to Vasari, Penni was a favourite of Raphael's and his heir, along with Giulio Romano. He assisted Giulio Romano to paint the frescoes of the Massimi chapel in the church of the Trinità de' Monti, Rome, from where this 'Saint Mary Magdalene borne by Angels' comes.
