I work right across it, drawing it loosely with brushes and then that's all wrong. So then I stop to build in the sky, using the acrylic and I like to use J cloths to paint with, or my hands to paint with, and meld that into the canvas.

So then you're starting getting a contrast between purely abstract forms - between black and white. Then you start to model those forms and then that's all wrong. So then you have to re-position, re-position, re-position and that's all wrong, and then a tiny bit might look like it actually works.

A tiny part of the painting might be working, so you go home and that doesn't feel too bad, until you come back the next day and realise that's all wrong. So it's always wrong - you're positioning, positioning, positioning.
