Description
A memorandum written by Hugh Ladas Agnew on 19 May 1966 which details the extent of debt following Charles Morland Agnew's death in 1931 and the repercussions of the Great Depression, as well as information concerning the restructuring of the Agnew's partnership into a limited company with shares held by family members. Not until the end of WWII did the company's finances improve markedly, and in July 1946 their carried forward losses were written off by reducing the nominal value of ordinary shares.
Attached sheets detail the annual profits and losses from 1918-1953, and the 'Estimated G.P.' and 'Printed account Profit before Tax' between 1948-1973.
