Directory of Painters

A typed directory of painters (with annotations), which is split into the following five sections:

[1] A list of abbreviations used within the volume (for example. B.R.: Museé Boijmans, Rottendam; G.: Dr. de Groot)
[2] Index of Gallery Catalogues used & Date of Publication
[3] Errera Repertory: Private Collections. Each entry records the artist's name, nationality (Spanish, Dutch, French, etc.), date, title, either the location or notice of sale, and the catalogue page number.
[4] Alphabetical directory of artists whose works are owned by museums. Each entry records a page no., artist's name, museum, no. subject, if signed
[5] Alphabetical directory of artists listing the place of birth, dates of birth and death where known, and reference to their tutors and common subjects painted. Each entry is classed either as B, W, or J. The reason for this is currently unknown.
