|Date||19 Mar 1883|
Letter (19 Mar 1883) from Briton Rivière to [Sir William] Agnew. Rivière discusses his search through the Gospels for a quotation [in relation to 'The Gadarene Swine'] and his preference for Mark 5, chapter 13. Rivière adds a postscript discussing a proposed sale of work, either privately or by public sale. He states that he considers 'Sympathy' a safe proposition, discusses potential prices and states "I have had about six times as many applications for Sympathy as for any work I have done!"
