Letter from Henry James to [ ] Agnew
Letter (undated, [c1880-1890]) from Henry James to [ ] Agnew thanking him for "your kind offer as to 'The Mermaid." James expresses surprise that Agnew should recall a conversation they have had (possibly regarding the painting) a long time previously. He has reaquainted himself with the picture "and it seems to me now a little too suggestive for my solemn years."
