A letter written from C.S. Gulbenkian to Charles Romer Williams (11 Jul 1914) confirming the former's terms of purchase of the following:
- "View of Rome", by Guardi
- "Mrs Mowbray", by Hoppner
- "Portrait of Miss Constance", by Romney
- And a deduction of credit for "Nymph and Piping Boy", by Sir Joshua Reynolds
A note in a second hand reads: "The infamous sale by CRW to Gulbekian!"
