Extracts from Albert Agnew's Travel Journal: Liverpool to Melbourne
|Date||16 Nov 1867-8 Jan 1868|
Typed extracts from a "Journal of a voyage from Liverpool to Melbourne on board 'Euynome'," by Albert Agnew (the son of Thomas and Jane Agnew) from 16 Nov 1867-8 Jan 1868. He writes about missing his family, and all the birthdays he is missing in November and December (his siblings Laura, Charles, Thomas, John Henry and Jane Emily, and his father). In particular he mentions the books he has taken for the voyage, recollects "what [Jane Emily (a.k.a Jenny) and Alice] have suffered on his account", and his hope that Jenny's health will hold.
A full copy of his journal of the voyage can be found at NGA27/23/23/15.
