Description
This series contains collected records (including correspondence, catalogues, financial and registration paperwork, press cuttings, and press releases) pertaining to exhibitions or fairs attended or set up by Thos. Agnew & Sons (with records dating between 1789-2012). Most exhibition records were not retained by the firm, and those that remain mainly date from the 20th century. Exhibition records were catalogued in the order they were received by the National Gallery; as a result the they are not arranged in chronological order. To find a specific record of an exhibition, search by date and/or the title of the exhibition.
Additional information regarding exhibitions connected to Agnew's may be found within the press cuttings (at NGA27/22), and references to loans of artworks for exhibits are recorded within volumes throughout the archive.
