|Archive reference number||NGA27/14/3|
A series of ledger volumes containing indexed accounts of clients registered with Agnew's Liverpool branch (c1858-1909). Common transactions include the sale of works of art, framing, insurance, and conveyancing. Following the closure of this branch in 1909, any client accounts which remained active were transferred to the Manchester or London Ledgers (respectively NGA27/14/1 and 2). The ledgers contain the following information for debits (on the left hand side of each page) and credits (right hand side):
- Description (e.g. Picture; Cash)
- Day Book volume and page number (or equivalent volume, e.g. Cash Book; these have not been retained by the archive).
- See NGA27/14 for more information about Ledgers in general.
- The ledger at NGA27/14/3/1 is locked and at present the archive does not hold the key to open it.
