Written when Cecil Gould was working at the National Gallery as Assistant Keeper. It describes events at the Gallery and journeys in Europe and America.
Pages are numbered by Gould. Pages 1-77 contain a diary for 17 Jan 1954-29 Apr 1956. There is a note at the end of the entry for 29 Apr which reads 'Diary of America trip 1960 in separate book'. Pages 77-79 contain an entry for 30 Nov 1966. Pages 79-end contain a diary for 19 Apr 1966-8 Jul 1972. The final pages contain a list of objects and furniture [belonging to Gould?] for retention, and a chronological list of his travel destinations, 1946-1960.
