Correspondence between Holroyd and Maurice Brockwell

Series of letters regarding Brockwell's complaints to Holroyd over the apparent disregard for his wishes during the production of the abridged and unabridged National Gallery catalogues. Research material Brockwell used for his book on the Salting bequest was featured in the 1910 annual report without Brockwell's permission, and the same material also featured in the proposed catalogues. Brockwell does not agree that his research should be published in this way prior to the publication of his own work, and corresponds with Holroyd on how best this situation can be recognized in the forword to both of the catalogues. One letter from C.H. Collins Baker also features in this series of letters; Baker was employed to assist with research for the catalogues.
