Letter from Lansdowne to Poynter
|Date||27 Jan 1904|
Lansdowne considers 'Northampton's Portrait of a Lady' to be an excellent picture, the draperies are wonderfully executed. With limited funds however, he wonders whether the Gallery is justified in purchasing it. Landowne also mentions an Albert Drurer picture, which is interesting but not of sufficient importance for the Gallery to purchase.
