Eastlake has deferred forwarding letters to the Director during his journey in Italy; however, he still communicates with the Director in some cases, which are listed: Letter from Reggio; letter from E.N. Rolfe about a picture in Naples; letter from M. Rucros of Troyes; letter from H.R. [Nuotore]; letter from the art gallery Department of the Cooperation of Derby asking to borrow The Experiment with the Air Pump by Joseph Wright of Derby; Ford & Dickenson have completed the frame for Lorenzetti's fresco and are waiting for inscription.
